This drawing is one of the few that Meller made directly in front of the object it depicts: it illustrates his sensitivity to even the humblest aspects of the natural world, capturing the appearance of parsley stalks and leaves but also in the rhythmic way they are arranged - something of the inner life of plants in general. - Eden Slone
