Design of two vertical groupings comprised of rectangular and block-like shapes with outlines and some filled in will sold colors, hand-colored. Ils Vont, Ils Viennent [Coming and Going] depicts totemic forms based on Aztec and Mayan iconography. The simple and direct images that characterize Soissons ouevre arise from his work as an art therapist for children. His emphasis on using form and image to express ones inner emotional state was further developed by his association with Art Brut. This was a group of artists who utilized nae forms as a means of rendering pure and authentic creative impulses, free of the desire for commercial or critical success.
