In May of 2007, day workers standing on Santa Barbara's Yanonoli Street known as "The Wall" were approached and asked to pose for a portrait. This resulted in the Santa Barbara Project, an Artist-in-Residence at the Atkinson Gallery, Santa Barbara City College. This pencil drawing of a full-length portrait depicts mustachioed worker, John, standing with his thumb in his pocket, his sleeves rolled up, and the top buttons of his shirt undone. Artist signature at lower right. Title and date of work at lower left. Artist signature, title, and date also present on the reverse.
