Born in 1956, Alison Saar is a renown Los Angeles-based artist working largely with sculpture, mixed media, and installation. Much like her mother, the acclaimed artist Betye Saar born in 1936, Alisons work explores her experience as a Black female living in America, while also touching upon various influences such as Latin American, Caribbean, and Native American. Slo Pickin Blues, which is painted on the back of a guitar.
