Description

100 gem photos in red leather album
3 1/8 x 3 1/4 x 1" CASE
This is a collection of tintype portraits bound within an album. Gem photos were quite small- around 1 ¼ inch high and 1 inch wide- and were often mounted in jewelry or carte de visite albums like this one. Gem photographs were made using multi-lens cameras, which could produce multiple exposures on the same plate.
