Lowry collages an altered portrait from an earlier era by morphing the subject's face into unique shapes with only the eyes and nose remaining in original form; a cutout of a bird is on his shoulder.The subject sits in a chair with a book in his lap. A circular cutout of a bird rests on one arm; a strip of elaborate penmanship is at the bottom of the page and reads: "Beauty Beauty Beauty." Signed and dated at the lower right.
