Description
Family
12 x 14 in
A hand-tinted salt print of a family of seven from 1868, photographed at 6 Temple Place in Boston. The family members sit or stand in the foreground, with an ivy-covered pillar behind them. Salt prints are photographic processes using paper first applied with salt water, then silver nitrate. The print was hand tinted in sepia, which brings out lights and darks in the image.
