A group of three men: One man is poorly dressed and sits on a bench, the other man is well dressed and has removed his hat to touch the poorly dressed man's shoulder, and the last man is standing in a doorway behind the well dressed man. The French words, "Les Philantropes du Jour" appears at the top of the lithograph. The French words, "Je sui assez content de notre nouveau system cellulaire . . . ce prisonnier ne peut manquer de s'ameliorer un jour . . . voici que nous l'avons deja rendu completement cretin . . . il ne s'agira plus maintenant que de lui donner de l'education! . . ." Initialed by the artist at the lower right.
