BONNARD, Pierre
Description
Illustration from `Dingo Series'
1924
Etching
11 x 8 1/2" SHEET
In 1913, Bonnard began a series of etchings for Dingo, the classic tale of a wild Australian dog by Octave Mirbeau, a popular Parisian writer and critic. Uncorrupted by social institutions, the maverick pup tried, and usually failed, to adapt to French civilization. This etching includes a loosely drawn image of a Dingo in flight.
