A lithograph of three figures around a table: two men and one woman. One man is dressed in military attire behind the table, the other man is dressed as a waelthy citizen and faces the table, and the woman is wearing a bonnet and a long shawl. She is looking at the table. On the table is a bag and stacks of coins. At the top of the lithograph the French words "Les Philantropes du Jour" ( Philanthropists of the Day) appears. At the bottom the phrase "Je ne queterai plus de ma vie pour les pauvres! . . . du moment ou j'ai fait dix-sept francs de moins que madame Ramachard!" ( I will not quit my life for the poor anymore! . . . The moment I made seventeen less francs than Madame Ramachard!) Initialed by the artist at the lower left corner.
