This mixed media work, along with KFI #'s 146 and 326, is from a series done by the artist about a violent neighborhood tragedy. The panels are similar in that they are gilded, and the decorative elements are festive, but the message is grim. The top portion of this assemblage shows three repeated hands, each reaching forward. The newspaper text cut out in strips, applied to the surface and partially obscured by paint say, in part: "I never thought something like this would happen in Virginia...shocked...it happened other places but..." Unsigned.
