Image was initially illustrated in the photographer's Platteland, 1994, which detailed the irony that despite political privilege apartheid had bestowed on whites, there is failure of the regime even to secure the well-being of the privileged minority. This includes a black and white photo of a man squatting and shaving in a verandah entryway; on reverse signed, dated with edition 3/5.
