Image was initially illustrated in the photographer's Platteland, 1994, which detailed the irony that despite political privilege apartheid had bestowed on whites, there is failure of the regime even to secure the well-being of the privileged minority. This black and white photo includes a woman sitting on a sofa next to a man leaning on a short pole holding a cigarette; on reverse signed and dated with edition 3/5.
