Rico Lebruns work confronts the darker side of humanity, often focusing on death and suffering, Crucifixions and the Holocaust were common themes in his work and they often included figures that appear distorted and disfigured. In this untitled drawing, a seemingly mangled hand appears to be outstretched in pain or possibly reaching for something. The inclusion of red pigment calls to mind blood, possibly alluding to the crucifixion.
